Tips on trips
Visiting Karst is an unforgettable experience in any time of the year. One can admire all the valuable natural features and the cultural heritage strolling through the countryside, dotted with karst sinkholes and ponds that used to hold rainwater for cattle. The region of Karst is most beautiful in autumn when smoke bushes turn fire red and the strikingly varied colors of vine leaves make the Karst scenery breathtakingly charming.
In our town you can visit the home of the renowned Slovene poet Srečko Kosovel, the church of St. Peter and Paul, and the church of Virgin Mary, covered with škrle, split plates of stratified limestone, typical of this region.
Karst is full of beautiful sights worth seeing.
